Given the massive increase in population that the MANERP area has had and the tremendous expansion of shops and service, traffic is, as you would expect – a nightmare!

This is made worse by the fact the Lincoln Road which runs directly through the area is a main arterial road into the city centre and is extremely busy. Illegal parking, double parking, parking on pavement, parking in bus stops and so on are major issues that the council have been slow to address and parking violations are seldom penalised.

The decision by Peterborough City Council to reduce the number of CEO’s (traffic Wardens) into critically low figures to cover the whole on Peterborough Unitary Authority has encouraged drivers to park anywhere they want irrespective of what type of obstruction they are causing.  Drivers are fully aware that the chances of being given a ticket are minimal and so it carries on.
